Jacking help

Jacking help

So my radiator support is rusted and gone to ****(my radiator is hanging by two metal wires) so where shoul I jack my car up so that I can change my two front rotors and pads?

From the sides. You'll just have to change them one side at a time. There may be a place on the engine strong enough like on some other cars, but I wouldn't trust it.

Yes I have jacked up the car on the side but once it's jacked up it seems there are no safe places around the side to place the jack stands. As I decompressed the jack the stands kept slowly cracking anywhere else I tried to put it. Illinois=a lot of rust

Before replacing my broken radiator support I placed the raising jack on the rear section of the crossmember bar where it mounts on the chassis.

When I jack up my car, I place the jack stands where the lca is bolted to the body.

I don't have the stand on the lca, I have the stand under the bracket that secures the lca to the body. I can't detect any problems in the 10 + years I have been doing it.

If it's designed to handle the cornering forces generated when your 3000 lbs vehicle goes through a hard corner, then jackstands are nothing to it
