Reverse lights not working

I have a 1995 maxima. I checked some fuses but can't figure out why my reverse lights don't work. I have altezza led taillights. All the other lights work. Thanks for all feedback

Did you check your bulbs?

If your bulbs are good, I would check the P/N Safety Switch to see that it is aligned properly.

  1. Did they ever work?
If they did, check bulbs and wiring.
  2. If they never worked in the first place:
LEDs have a polarity, positive must be wired to positive, and negative must be wired to negative. Reversed and they will not work. Try switching wires around.

The guy I bought the car from said they did. The altezza lights came with harnesses so I'll check it out and also it's a 5spd. I even put the factory harness back on off of my original trunk and nothing. Also it should light up without the vehicle started correct. Thanks again for all feedback

90% chance it's the P/N Safety Switch. The rocker on those things bends really easy, causing it not to touch the contact surface

original 5spd or swapped 5spd? If swapped, a lot of people don't hook up the P/N switch correctly or forget to get the 5spd P/N switch.

Yep. P/N switch for sure.

Just a piece of advice, DO NOT BREAK the sensor when you try to pull it out to get to the switch. It is very easy to break off the tab.

Also, the P/N switch has a small ball bearing under the lever. Don't lose it.
