Fuel Pump / hesitation / how to diagnose?

Dear All,
I dont know much about cars,
Few days back my car started hesitating and sometime it turns off when I stand at red signal,
Or when I am parking my car it goes off ... especially at evening,
Same time when I start again ... it starts without any problem.
In high speed = problem is less and rare but it jerks.

So I opened fuel tank below the seat and replaced the motor of fuel pump,
But I couldnt change the filter attached with old motor ... I had to put same filter,

Anyways after three four days I realised that the problem became more,
Car was starting and going off ... startin and goin off ... not stayin on.
I opened the front hood of engine and removed pipe going to airfilter,
I inserted finger to block that pipe then it was not shutting off ... and stayed on till i remove finger.
then I removed the pipe attached with round bottle type thing,
It was the fuel pipe coming from the tank and attached with round bottle type filter,
What I saw is that patrol is not coming there when I switch on the car,

So I opened the fuel pump which was not seated properly ... and placed it properly in the bracket.
After that car started fine and till now after 3 days it didnt came off.
But still I feel car is missing or lightly hesitating ... even I filled the tank full.

Now I want to diagnose with some easy steps,
In my mind ... maybe it is some wire for the pump inside tank,
Maybe have to change full pump including filter and small wires,
Maybe it is the round bottle which looks to be filter.

Thanks and Regards,

Open front hood, left click this link => http://forums.maxima.org/4th-generat...g-dummies.html This should help your hesitation issues. If not, listen for vacuum leaks while engine is running, these leaks will make a hissing noise, identify hose and replace. Have you replaced your fuel filter? If not, do so.

To start with, what year is your car? if your car is a 1995 to 1999 Maxima, the fuel filter is not in the tank, it is attached to the firewall under the hood.

Since the car only has a problem at idle, it is probably not the fuel pump. Follow the link that bprice92 gave you and report back.

Thanks ...

Thanks so much bprice92 & DennisMik,
I am greatful to you,
People like you are very rare who help people without anythin in return, Intelligent like not only recognize my typing but also reaching to the solution of problem within few seconds, very rare to spend few moments for someone. That thing shows successful human being without doubt.

Actually I did nothin except putting WD-40 at the MAF sensor which is filament type ... previously before posting here I had cleaned IACV with ACDELCO spray white bottle and finished full bottle of ACDELCO. That spray is so kool. But as I said problem was there which I think gone by cleaning MAF sensor.

Link posted by bprice92 is great help.
Next when I have time then I will change that fuel filter with firewall ... which Dennismik rightly pointed out.

Regards,

Frankie I didnt have that ACDELCO ... I realised this after opening MAF,
So I had to put WD-40 but now I wil bring ACDELCO and clean properly MAF, IACV, throttle body ... most importantly I have to clean EGR which I have never seen. Best thing I learned during this is that once you open these things for first time ... it will take maybe 1 hour ... but next time it wil take 5 minutes.

Guys. CHILL. English is obviously not OP's original language.

To the OP (Huma) - you should be able to find something called MAF cleaner, brand is CRC. Use that to spray your MAF with...WD40 is not recommended.

In this picture (which was in the thread you got linked) on the RIGHT is what you want to spray your MAF with. Be careful, as touching it with your fingers can break it, it's very sensitive.

^^ Your right.
Sorry OP.

As soon as I read WD-40 and MAF, that was that.

I guarantee that his MAF is bad if he sprayed it with anything other than MAF cleaner.

So probably replace your MAF with a used OEM one and keep WD40 away from everything except for bolts and squeaky doors~even though PB blaster is superior.
