Fallen 4th gen enthusiast

On mothers day a fellow 4th gen enthusiast tragically passed away while wrenching on his G/F I30 he didnt use jack stands and the jack failed please guys use safety when working on your car an may he rest in piece

Mods if this is the wrong area please move

Hey, I was gonna make a post about this, but guess you beat me too it.

But I mean, I truly did not know what to think after i read about this on the fb page.

Anyway, i think it should be in the general section but thats up to the mods.

Rule 1 is to use jackstands if you're working underneath your car. I not only use jack stands, but reinforce on both sides with jacks, and I still worry the damn car is going to fall.

Man, what a way to go. Rest in peace fellow enthusiast.

People have got to remember the moment you get under a car with no jack stands, you are rolling your dice. And if the odds are not in your favor, you pay the price. So please please please please use jack stands, dying only to save a few minutes is never worth it.

R.I.P. Prayers to his loved ones, and trully thanks for the reminder to all of us.

I recently did my Wife's Mazda 3 brakes a few weeks ago and I even HAD the stands out with me but did not put them under. This is serious. I was incredibly stupid. No joke, this post just made me realize I put my life in the hands of a cheap 30 dollar floor jack.
