A whole mess of goodies.

Well I've been spending money lately, picked up obx headers, y-pipe, rear strut assemblies (thanks ABIGBRAIN), and looking at injectors.

Have a few questions:

When doing headers, any advice? I know the motor mount sits in a bad spot and I've heard lifting the engine is a safe route. I don't mind doing this, just looking for extra tips/tricks to make this a good mod.

Y pipe is pretty easy to my knowledge, almost plug n play. So no real questions there.

Rear struts, I assume are straight forward. Jack up the car, do one side at a time, lower it. BAM, but any extra advice is always helpful. I've only done my fronts before, and they weren't exactly the most fun thing in the world, but weren't dreadful.

Injectors, I'm looking to upsize to 370cc, which I know come off a 300zx, but I've been doing some searching and reading and I'm 90% sure that they will fit the Maxima. I've never done injectors before but would love to make the upgrade. Any info on these? I plan to post pics as the jobs are being done and continue.

Thanks to all .

John

If you have access to a cherry picker and have a good chain, wrap it under the lower im and lift it up enough to hold the stress and just totally take the cross member out. It's an extra step but it will make the job over all easier.

The rear struts are a little simpler than the front. Only real pain part is the top of it, you'll have to climb in the trunk and remove the liner. Lol

And there isn't any real benefit to running larger injectors unless you have more air to go with it(ie boost, 00vi, etc..)

The rear struts are very easy. You will need to jackup one side of the car at a time. Do not lift the car up by the axle beam. I have a set of 300ZXTT injectors (370cc) and a Safc2 for tuning. I also have an 00VI and RPM switch to activate the VIAS. The setup I have does not require 5th gen rear coils or valve cover.

Probably because I have enough parts on hand from my previous cars to build up and properly maintain 2 cars. Lol. Not to mention I am only a few minutes away from a recycling yard that is abundant with 4th and 5th gens.

As stated, skip the 370cc injectors. Your mods don't warrant them.
