getting 25.5MPG - not bad for a clunker
I've driven 1000+ miles on my 98 GLE now, and my old trusted "# miles driven/actual gallons pumped in" calculations show an avg of 25.5MPG in mixed driving.
With 170k miles, that's not bad at all!

These are some pretty good numbers. I'm getting around 230 miles a tank in my car. Sucks, only 62k on the clock and gas here is around $4.40 a gallon but I do all my driving in the city.
Honolulu is traffic ridden and nothing but stop and go. My gauge says it's averaging 17.7 mpg, so I guess I'll take it.

I can't keep my foot off the gas either.
The TCW-3 did help my milage, and I switched to the 17's recently; so that helps I'm sure, but I'm still averaging 16mpg~all city.
I took one highway trip with the 18" G35's and that threw my mpg up to 19, but that was only about a 40 mile drive.
I'm going to try harder to shift earlier or just into a higher gear, but the sound is

Gettin' 21-23 mpg
My 95 GXE with over 223k has been getting in the 21-23 range lately, down from an average of about 25. Going to replace O2 sensors this weekend since they look like they're original and see if that helps any.

After market coils usually have the wrong resistance value built into the primary winding, causing a DTC. This is a well documented issue and as already posted in your own thread, buy new or used OEM.
