H3 bulbs (fog light)

Can anyone help?? Lookin for a very bright fog lite bulb. About to buy PIAA Extreme white and PIAA Super plasma GT-X, company says both are bright but the Plasma is bluish purple. Gonna see which one I like better. Bought some LEDs...pretty but they were not bright at all!! Sucked!! Don't want any HIDs.

How bright are you expecting to get with standard halogen bulbs? If you want super bright hids is the way to go, but you still wouldn't be happy because the factory 4th gen fog lights have a horrible beam pattern.

Well I bought some H3s from pepboys last month, they were bright. I was hoping the LEDs were goin to be brighter...not. The PIAAs sound good. Plasma is 5000 and xtreme white is 4400. Also gonna try link that Bronxbomber suggested.

Yeah, but you can always retrofit projectors in them too.

Any bulb with a coating (think filter) on it will reduce the actual lumens (light output) of the bulb. They only give you some color. Stick with a standard H3 and be done with it or do a retro to HID or replace the whole assembly with an aftermarket unit.

Now where's that horse or has he been beaten to death already?

I just received the pair I ordered. These lamps require some slight modifications to the lamp assemblies. The lamp is too long, and they hit the metal piece inside the lamp assemblies. Nothing a drill did not fix.
