sluggish 95 max :(

Hey guys I havnt posted much thanks to the search button. But my maxima has a sluggish acceleration or at least I feel it sure does. Almost feels restricted, I've tested thet maf and is within specs the crank sensor is within spec I changed the fuel pump with a know good one and no difference fuel filter isn't clogged plugs have about 10000 miles on them I have also swapped out the coils from a perfect running maxima. I found that the rear crank sensor is not reading within the haynes manual specs with the screw driver test. I've read that sensor controls the timing of when to spray the fuel. Is this correct and is this sensor supposed to hwve a liitle nipple sticking out? Will the auto one fit in the manual one? I assume not?

Also not sure if related but the idle hangs around 1500 when I take it out of gear for about 15-20 seconds and then goes down to normal idle and it feels like low power from idle till about 3600ish and then it feels like my maxima "pops vqtec" and starts pulling like i feel like it should.

Check for stored error codes, if the KS come up, change it.
Have you checked the air filter?

How long has it been since the FUEL filter was changed? I know you say it's not clogged, but when was it last chagned? Also, do you use 87 gas or 92/93?

Yes, check for codes, and if KS pops up, change that again.

You mentioned earlier you had a crank pos sensor code? If you haven't yet, change that sensor if it's not reading within spec.

I'd say KS especially if you have a Auto, just try the easy stuff like cleaning your TB and MAf and check all of your vacuum lines. i did all of this when i replaced my rear valve cover. the KS was a pain to get to because of my '99 EGR setup but it was well worth the bloody knuckles. Good luck

OP has a 95, and a manual. KS should be a breeze.

Clean MAF (w/ MAF cleaner) if you haven't already.
Clean IACV.
Clean TB.
Clean EGR.
Tighten up throttle cables.

Clean tb, I would also swap out the coil control sensor, change PVC valve, knock sensor, use 89 gas or higher after knock sensor change and u will feel the difference. Adjust your throttle cable. Be sure your oil and tranny fluida are full.

if you feel nothing but a sluggish start not like a misfire and running an auto its almost certain your one way roller is broken on your torque converter.
not fixable just a replacement will do.
