Has anyone here been ticketed for having Xenon bulbs?
Most of the cops where I live are cool with people having colored bulbs all over, but there are like two really **** ones that run around busting people for their blue headlights, turn signals, sidemarkers, corner lamps, license plate lights, and windshield washers (I've been pulled over for all of 'em
). Now my insurance agent says that if I get another ticket, my rates will go through the roof.
So I got these Naxos bulbs that are supposed to look like HIDs, and they look sweet, but they also look pretty blue to me. So I was wondering if anyone has gotten pulled over for having these, or similar Xenon bulbs? Oh yeah, and how about clear corners with white bulbs?

I personally haven't been issued a ticket for bluish headlights or my clear corners with clear bulbs, but I know many people have. I haven't seen Naxos bulbs before, but if it looks pretty blue to you, it'll look pretty blue to other people as well. The chance is up to you.
Your insurance rate will be skyhigh if you get another ticket? I thought these were just fix-it tickets that do not count on your record. Well, I'm in CA, it may be different in other places...

I didn't mention the ticket I just got a few weeks ago and am in the process of getting deferred. If it get another citation of any kind within a year, my deferral will end and it will go on my record.
Well is there anyone out there that has gone a long time with Naxos bulbs and not had any trouble?

And as for aftermarket bulbs the US DOT does not actively certify any products, they mere publish regulatons that must be followed.
Plus, the "but everyone else has them" argument NEVER works for getting out of a ticket.
I know they're more money, but the PIAA Plasma's are SAE certified in all states. If you are really having that much trouble and want to retain the look, you should go for that. About the wiper lights, (opinion) they look stupid and (fact) in most states there is a law about the number of lights you may have visible on the front of your car. About marker lights, there is no reason why they should get you for having bluish (not blue, but bluish) lights. As far as signal lights, there is more than likely a law in every state restricting the color of them (usually amber and red). There is no reason why you can't make your car look cool AND be legal. I personally use the cheapies on my car for markers and headlights and I haven't had a problem thus far. Again, I know this is an expensive solution, but it is less expensive than getting your insurance rates raised. I already pay $192 a month with no tickets or accidents so I can't imagine getting my rates hiked. In fact, Im just looking forward to turning 25 in April - my rates are due to be just over $100 a month THANK GOD. Good luck.

dont just go by "DOT" approved and stuff like that.....but i mean.... HID/XENON lamps - there's nothing wrong with having those....they come stock on a lot of the newer cars, the only reason why you would get busted is cause you screwed up the aiming
