Recommended 30,000 Miles Scheduled Maintenance??

I am looking closely at a 1999 Maxima SE LTD. with 27,000 miles on the odometer. My question to anyone kind enough to help me is, is there a factory scheduled maintenance scheduled around the 30,000 mile mark? And what are the approximate costs? Oh, and what do they do?

Also, I noticed the front tires were close to needing replaced. What suggestions do you have for replacement tires and what did you pay for the tires, alignment, and balancing?

Any information yu can give me will help me immensely.

Sincerely,
Coach50

Look in your owners manual for the service intervals. Most everything is check this and check that.

For my 30,000 service I changed the automatic trans fluid, that was it! The rest of my maintenance is just tire rotations and oil & filter changes. Air filter was changed every 15,000 until I got the K&N drop in which I clean every 6 months now.

Your major service isn't due until you hit 60,000.

Thanks njmaxseltd,

I am looking to purchase this vehicle and I don't have access to an owners manual. It sounds as if the 30,000 maintance isn't that big of deal.

Do you have any thoughts about the tires? Everyone seems to have their thoughts as to which brand of tire is best so I thougt I'd ask everyone which is their favorite and how much they paid?

I'm a Dunlop fan. My summer wheels and tires are dirrerent then winter, snow here in NJ isn't fun with 17" Z rated tires.

Summer I run Dunlop SP8000 235/45/ZR17

Winter I run stock rims (16") with Dunlop Sport A2 215/55/16 H rated tires. They perform very well in wet and dry conditions and there very quiet too. A nice blend of performance with a luxury ride.

30k maintenance requires

Oil and filter
Air filter
Check everything

I would recommend in addition:

ATF drain and refill
Coolant drain and refill
Fuel filter

Other than that, the Max is a pretty maintenance free car. Change your oil every 5k miles (normal oil) or 7.5k (synthetic oil), don't floor it at every stoplight, and your car will last forever.
