[DIY] The Home Depot/Garage Seal Lip

This is how to make your own alternative cheap lip for your Maxima. I've seen other threads on it, and decided to do it myself and make a thread on it.
I have to say, I kinda like it. Even though it's not the real deal.
This is only a little tutorial, not a hate it or like it discussion.

What you need:

Scissors
Tape (Preferably waterproof/weather proof 2 or 3 inch tape)
Garage Seal

I got this one made by Frost King (as used in other threads). MAKE SURE you get EPDM rubber.
There are 2 different seals. The other one is softer, which is what you don't want.

How I placed the tape

I used multiple pieces underneath, once placed. I used this tacky duct tape because it's the only thing I had.
The weatherproof mounting tape I had didn't work too well and was too small.

Front:

I didn't want to have a split lip, but I chose to do it like this because there is a dip in the middle of the bumper. Which is why I cut it in 3 pieces.
The seal isn't really easy to flex up and down. It looks really good with just the corner lips. It's whatever you prefer.

Back:

Decided to do the back.

The reason why I did not extend the front and back lips to the wheel well is that there is a screw between the bumper and the fender.
So this is just in case you had to remove either one, then it will not interfere.

Remember to take your time and line it up just right.

I did the same a few years back with my Accord. I just screwed the foam to the bottom of the bumper and it looked OEM, and since its still foam, had no problems with it, especially in the winter.

Looks like there's a garage door seal hanging from your bumpers...
