I was thinking the same thing. I got an idea, I don't know if it would work, may even sound silly to some. Here goes, I there a way to chrome the plastic stock grille on a 95-96? I don't know much about electroplating, but does anyone know if this is possible? Or maybe chrome paint? Don't flame me, just throwing out ideas.

To all who want to know if you can chrome the plastic grill on your cars.. YES.. And its VERY VERY VERY simple. All they do is paint the plastic with a conductive paint. THis paint can conduct Electricity therefore allowing someone to electtroplate (chrome) plastics.

I have a 96 max SE and i sold my SMX (pontiac) grill and descided to customize my stock grill. What I did was taped up the paint part and the nissan logo and spray painted the black plastic piece of the grill silver. I then sprayed over that with a clear coat to protect it from the weather. I think it looks hot. Just a little info for ya if you dont wana spend the $$ on getting it chromed or on some other grill you will just get sick of.
