Questions on Cylinder Head Gasket Repacement

Hello:
I would first of all thank everyone for the helpfulness and input
and Maximeltman started with some answers.

95 Maxima 3.0 Engine
Failed the radiator Block tester with the carbon dioxide reactive dye

#1 Why does the upper and lower oil pans have to be removed when taking off the Front/Rear timing covers?
(are there bolts that come up from the bottom?)
#2 If I don't own a sling to support the engine from the air
and all three motor mounts are removed what and where can I support from the ground?
#3 Can only the lower pan be removed without the big upper pan removed?
#4 Can the heads be removed with only the front timing cover removed? Or must the rear timing cover also be removed?

Thanks

Fixandfly

just the lower oil pan to take off the right side timing cover. There are a couple bolts hidden. There are a couple timing cover bolts that are a bear to get at. If you don't use the screwdriver in the factory Jack kit, weld a 10mm socket to it. it's impossible to get a wrench or ratchet in there with the engine in the car.

Did you mean Front or back timing cover?
