ok so im finally getting rid of my honeycomb rims (stock rims from GLE version of the maxima) they look fugly. ya know what they rims are a a big part of the car and changes how the car looks.

the wheels i have right now are (yes im staying 15 inch as i do like to feel less weight on the car) and they dont look too small or too big.

P 205/ 65P 15 ,92T-- dont know if 92T is really needed so i doubt.

Yes they will fit just fine. The 92T is just a product number for that peticular make of tire and has nothing to do with the tire size.

so 205/65P 15 will fit with this? even tho all the numbers not exact but the main part is the 15 inch so it will fit no matter what?

Ive never bought rims before so this is my first time experience so I just want to make sure it does fit. And how it works, even though tirerack does make sure it fits I just want to double check lol

sorry are you talking about weather or not that tire size will fit on that rim or will the rim fit on your car? If your wanting to change your rim your bolt pattern is 15x114.3 to be precise but it looks like the bolt pattern in your pic. says 5x114 but im thinking they're rounding it but it doesn't hurt to double check but otherwise if thats the case yes they will fit your car and the tire size you stated will fit the rim. If you go to the tools at the top of the page there is also a tire/rim calculator

They look so similar... Why don't you see if you can just pick up a set of SE rims? I see them all the time at the you pull it yard. Should only be like $20-30 each too

Yeah that I was trying to say, keep the tires I have right now which are the 205/65P 15, and just put on the rims with the same tire I have today. And making sure the rim fits my tire I have as of right now so I don't have to buy tires when I get rims, because I bought brand new tires about a year ago.

Also... Look on craigslist for rims off a newer max or infinity. For $400 you could get rims with tires. Just search under parts for 5x114, 5x114.3 or 5x4.5 (I think). Then sell the rims and tires you have to recoup cost? Anyway... Just another option.

i kinda dont want to go to up in inches, cause then i would have to drop the car, im tight on money so i can only do what i can do. im fine with the stock 15s, to me they dont look big or small at all, especially for me. when i get some spare $ later on when i finish everything else. then yeh i may decide to get bigger rims, but for now i want to stick to 15s. as temporarily(to stop looking at my honeycomb rims lol), i got other things that i want to add to the car as well.



and reply to why i shouldn't get SE rims from 97-99 maxi, I would love to save money on that, but i really want to live the aftermarket world and experience it, besides the SE rims look a little fat imo but i do like the look dont get me wrong on that, than getting stock rims that came with the car, if u know what i mean. these aftermarket look a bit thinner and less thick, skinnier if thats how ya call it.


im still looking around and studying how rim fitment works, and seeing what rims i really want. the ones i posted, is one of my top pick that i would buy

FWIW 92T isn't a 'product number', it's load index (92) and speed rating (T).

ok so the rim im buying has a 45mm offset right, the tire or rim i have right now (stock GLE maxima version) is 40mm off set.. will the 45mm offset rim still fit onto the tire i have without any harm?

as u can see, the tires i have right now are 5mm less than the rim i want to put on, 10 less on tire width and 5 higher on aspect ratio.

even though all numbers do not match up exactly, the rim will still fit onto the tires i have with no modifications? just trying to get a clear understanding before i make any mistakes.

You are mixing everything together and are just confusing yourself and everybody else.

For the rim, the the diameter, the bolt pattern, the width and the offset are what you need to consider and compare to another rim. In your case only the offset is different from the stock rim. Having more offset is going to make the wheel sit/mount closer to the inside of the car. 5mm is less than a quarter inch, not a big deal if you are staying with stock/almost stock size tires.

For the tire, it needs a rim of a certain width for whatever size it is. You have a rim that is 6.5 inches wide and that is what tires in the 205/65/15 size range need. There is nothing in the 205/65/15 that tells you this. Unless you were trying to radically change the tire size, you are ok.

The only thing you need to consider is that the tire you intend to install is wider than the stock size. you have chosen a 10mm wider tire. Half of that is towards the inside and the other half is towards the outside. Now the rim you want will have the tire 5mm closer to the inner fender and the tire will stick out 5mm closer the the inner fender. So your new wheel/tire setup will be 10mm closer to the inner fender.

When you turn the wheels all the way left or right, will you still have clearance so the tire doesn't rub? 10 mm isn't a lot, only .4 inch. I really don't know, but I bet you are ok.

thinking about 16s, but would i need a drop or no? i dont want to ruin the car on its suspension/ speedo/height lookin funny or whatnot.

how does the ride react with the 17s? heard its a rougher ride, would love 17s but how is the ride overall?


also thinking of going to salvage yards(30 min drive for 5 salvage yards close to eachother =\) to see if they got some maxi 97-99 trunk lids and front bumpers/ may look for some wheels there. heard theres alot of maximas now there. i got 500$ to spare for now for the car.

He is man. I have run 17's, 18's, and 19's, and it wasn't until I got to the 19's w/ 245/45/19 tires on em that I needed to roll my fenders.



And that isn't even taking into consideration the fact my car is DUMPED.

Yeah buddy, I think you are getting a little crazy with the numbers. The only things that are important in my opinion is the wheel diameter and width.

Unless you are buying 15 inch rims that are 12 inches wide, I think you will be fine with whatever you choose.

When I got my wheels, I just chose the size I wanted, kept it 7.5 in wide, and let the tire guys slap on some tires that fit.
