Resetting the security system on your Maxima
Okay, I have read dozens of threads, posts, searches online and yes even on here to figure out a way to reset your security system on the 4th generation Maxima's. May even work for other years too but I KNOW FOR A FACT this works because I just had a LOCKSMITH TECH show me after I broke my key off in the door, (and NO I didn't have the keyless FOB....yet) its on its way now tho...
Once he jimmied the lock and got in the car he had me pop the trunk so he could gain access to the back side of the trunk lock where the ACUATOR is located and he popped it out and on that is a metal flat area, he passed a magnet across that area and VIOLA....the security system was reset.
I tried all the different ideas on here but when ur only key is busted off
you are limited on what u can do. But after that he cut a new key for me (3) i paid him $100.00 including tip...and I was back on the road.
If you live in the Twin City area (mpls-st.paul) I HIGHLY recommend Tim's Keys and Remotes in Hopkins...they are a mobile service and know their ****.

This post is overall funny.
If you lock your keys in your car, or break them in the door, all you need is a wedge of wood like a door stop.
You wedge that in to the top of the drivers side door so it gives an opening small enough to hit your unlock button with a stick or coat hanger.
If your worried about your car alarm sounding or disabling your starter; pop the hood when your done and either disconnect the battery or pull the fuse for the alarm to reset it.
You could likely retrieve the partial key yourself once you have access to the inside, then you just take it up to your local locksmith and get a copy for $3.
That right there will save you $100.
Your welcome.
