Strange oil leak

Hello everyone,

I have something crazy going on, and would appreciate some insight.

If my car is level, either running or turned off, it does not leak oil. But as soon as I pull up in my drive way (which has a pretty good slope)and turn it off, it leaks like crazy. I'm talking like a quart over night. But it only leaks to a certain point, then just stops dripping.

The leak is on the passenger side past the lower oil pan a few inches. It is dripping off a bolt in some kind of brace near where the downpipes bend and come together. I cannot tell where it originates.

It is driving me nuts. My mechanic drove it 20 minutes and left it running up on the lift and not one drop fell. Soon as I got home and pulled in the driveway the dang thing went right back to dripping.

One more thing... my mechanic just replaced my rear timing cover o-rings. They dont leak anymore. But now I have this new leak I didnt have before. So it seems like its something he did during the repair that is causing this.

Thank you guys for any input.

I'd have to see pictures, but a car that leaks on an incline, but not level sounds like an axle seal.

Gasket between upper and lower oil pans? Crack in upper oil pan?

Did you tell your mechanic it only leaks on the slope of your driveway? And if you did, did he slope the car upwards accordingly or just lift it straight up in the air and look for the cause?

Tell you mechanic to get creative, front up, then get under and see where it's coming from.

I didnt really think about the slope thing when I took the car to him today. But I will for sure bring it up first thing Monday morning

Thanks for helping and taking time out of your day to respond.

Possibly the Oil Pressure Sensor that is located right above the lower oil pan?
