clutch problem and question
95 maxima se 5 speed manual. clutch was a little weak then the pedal started sticking to the floor. I tried to bleed the system but the master cylinder was shot. I replaced it and also the slave cylinder while I was in there. ive read through some of the threads and i like the suggestion to get the 1 piece braided line so im going to buy one tomorrow. anyway, after I replaced the parts, I still cant get the system to bleed. I know the master cylinder is good because I made sure it sprayed fluid before I put it in and I also filled the slave cylinder with fluid. im hoping the braided line will solve that problem. however, the question I have is this... I was able to move the clutch fork/input lever by hand. im ignorant when it comes to clutches. is this normal? to be more clear, I could only move it in one direction which compressed the slave cylinder.

I had the exact same symptoms when my clutch was on its way out. My mechanic showed me the parts and pointed out that the clutch material was so far gone that the clutch could barely mate to the flywheel, and it made the clutch fork work so much harder. Twice before I finally changed the clutch, the clutch pedal got stuck on the floor.
Your clutch may be fine, but everything else in the clutch system may be worn out.....throw out bearing, springs etc. Best to do a complete clutch maintenance.
