Faint smell of gasoline inside the car
About a week ago, I started faintly smelling gas inside the car. But only if the car sits in one spot for more than a few minutes. Say when warming it up in these sub-zero temps, barely a smell. No smell while driving or even sitting at a stop sign/light.
I'm thinking fuel pressure regulator since I do have to turn the key to run for a count of three before turning to start or the car will chug for four or five seconds or just shut back off. Yea, yea, I know... Should have done something about that sooner..
Am I thinking correctly?

I also have a 95 SE and had those 2 problems which were separate issues.
1st. The smell of fuel could be 2 or 3 things but mine was on start up when I was warming the car. The fuel lines on the firewall were dripping fuel and I just needed
to tighten the claps....Hard part is finding them and then getting to them.
I finally took a mirror along the firewall and found where the clamps were. 2 hoses running horizontal , in the middle by the EGR. there's also a fuel line on the front left that can seep fuel. Search here and you'll find a lot of good info. of what else it might be.
2nd. When I fist started my car it would idle right. it would jump rpm's and even shut off. but if I turned the key back and tried again it would run smooth. My MAF was messing up. I bought a 35 dollar one on ebay and it has run like new ever since.
I'd use the search function here, a guy name CarsNToys on you tube has some good 4th gen maxima videos as well.
