My 1996 Nissan maxima shuts off while driving especially when am in a traffic. I don't experience it if the car is on top speed. I have changed the plugs but it didn't stop.


Also, the lights deems and is never bright.


I need help.

Any check engine lights currently? Was the battery or alternator ever changed?

 

I had this same problem with my '96 Manual Maxima, every time I would shift into neutral, like when I'd roll up to a stop light or something, it would shut off and my battery light would come on and it wouldn't turn on for a few mins. My problem was never fixed, it just randomly stopped happening after awhile, but my alternator died not long after I made that post. I would take your car (if you can) to an Autozone/O'riellys etc and have them check for any faults your car is putting out. Also you should have them test what your alternator is putting out.
