Loaded Suspension Jacking/Lifting Q

I'm trying to track down a front end noise and I need to get the front end off the ground.

However, I also need to keep the front suspension fully loaded as if the car was still sitting on the ground with wheels/tires in place but with the wheels/tires removed.

Do any of your guys have info on a spot beneath the front suspension members that can be used to raise the car while keeping the suspension loaded yet not causing any damage?

I thought about placing an appropriate length of 2x4 under the lower control arm right under the ball joint and raising from there ... but, I don't know.

Any takers?

I've jacked right from the control arm. Be very careful, it's not a very secure way to lift.

The center crossmember is a jacking point.....so long as you have the beefy OEM piece. Some members doing radiator support fixes have used aftermarket crossmembers which are light and fragile.

My plan would be to lift both sides simultaneously and at the same rate.

Understood ... but I need to keep the suspension under load.
