Transmission
Hey guys I'm at a dilemma. I have a locked up manual engine that I pulled out of my 95 maxima. The engine that I bought and had shipped they said was also manual but the flyplates look totally different. The new engine had a flex plate which leads me to believe it's automatic. Now my question is can I switch the plates to make the automatic engine a manual and to work w the manual transmission? Thanks guys

Yes I've done that, I have the flex plate removed and the flywheel from the manual engine to swap it on but I'm just questioning that piece in the middle there if it can be pulled because the old manual engine doesn't have that piece therefore allowing the pilot bushing to be pushed into there.

there is no "converting" needed besides removing a few simple parts. i am as confused as quicky here. this isn't that difficult. i'd like to see a pic of the part causing your confusion.
btw the pilot bushing serves no function besides aiding in clutch alignment. you can go without it if you so choose.
