I own a 1999 Maxima SE with 188k miles on it. It is a great car and the motor is still kicking great! However as of today, I've been having start up issues. I recently got a newly rebuilt transmission and replaced the starter (From Autozone) 2-3 months ago. I just got an oil change done by a mechanic and all of a sudden, my car has been having a hard time starting up. Any ideas???

 

Since you recently had the transmission rebuilt, it's possible they didn't clean the bellhousing well enough before they put it back together and now you're experiencing a grounding issue. Run a ground from the transmission to the battery (negative terminal) and see if that helps any.

 

Check the CPS connector & wiring my car stoped startin after an oil change the connector and wiring run right under the oil filter think of what 15 years of oil changes and excess oil gettinng on that wiring and connector does

 

Hey what's up homie. this happen to my 1995 GLE with 168K miles that i bought and a week later acting weird. so i replace the fuel pump motor with the filter screen ( not the floater that reads the fuel level) and fuel filter. I took it to a mechanic that has a SNAP-ON scanner. He notice I had wrong injectors since I had another mechanic rebuild my injector before that I knew nothing about and I did not like his gagare from the begining . I had different color injector's that the snap-on mechanic told me. Then I replace them all with OEM re-manufacture Nissan injector to be on the safe side and for better performance. Make sure the injector are for the same year and model and the same color.

 

Hey whats up again homie. first look if your battery post termail are not loose and make sure the are clean too. You also may want to get your battery check out and alternator check too first and then go changing the other thing typed a bit ago.

 

Start with the most simple starting problem know to man. The ignition switch looses contact and if so the 12v will not reach the starter enough to cause good cranking.
Remove and test while still plugged with a screwdriver if its worn than there you go sir.
