got my 96 painted

I don't post here much, mostly troll for answers about what may be wrong with this car for this particular moment.

I have put a ton of work into the mechanical end of this car and the exterior had paid the price for it's spectacular unreliability since that is where the money always went.

Long story short, it has been running better for a little while and decided to get a relatively cheap paint job to make it look better.

I did all the sanding, priming, and other basics myself to keep the cost down, threw on a '99 rear bumper to match the trunk and overall I am very happy with how it turned out.

I don't love the car, mostly because it has been such a costly purchase that has caused me a lot of anguish when it was originally purchased to save me from making a car payment on a newer, better, car.

That being said, I don't like driving a car that looks like crap and it needs to hang around for about two more years to have everything paid off.

If you think the color looks a little off from the stock "Ruby Red"...well, you're right. I had it painted in a Lexus color called "Matador Red" because I always liked their version and wanted something that was a little different than stock.

^ imo the 96 front end looks good fully loaded with clear signals, fog lights and license plate in the front to cover up the "mouth" looking in the front. cause with the license plate it does make a difference with it and without it.

but i can see a reason for the rear swap, more options for lights.

I actually like the '96 front more and the glass headlights will never turn yellow, but also don't fit the '99 front quite right.

I didn't do clear turns because they can not be seen by other drivers well enough and I did the '99 rear because the stock '96 rear was very "heavy" in it's appearance, the '99 was a nice improvement.
Personally I don't like front license plates, it screws up the front of the car. This car had one and I had removed it right after buying it and then I completely sanded it down, filled the holes, smoothed it all out and primed before paint was done.

That is a bbk, one of the best improvements I have made right up their with the TWM SS for driveability.

I am planning on removing the fog lights and running brake cooling hoses and ducts eventually.

^ pretty much anything, rear ends, front ends, lights...headlights.. the only difference from the 95-96 and the 97-99 is that they changed

Front ends, rear ends, headlights, Optional 16 inch rims, pretty much it.

Clear front signals can be seen just fine by others

In fact, I would argue that the clears are a better alternative because it's plainly obvious when they're on, as opposed to an already colored light that you have to tell is brighter than normal or not...
