Spoiler Light
Spoiler Light
So my spoiler flew off on the interstate on my way home from work and i went to the junkyard to find another one. Unfortunately, the led strip light does not work. Instead of going to buy another one that might not work, I want to buy a spoiler light and install it. I've seen some websites that sell the spoiler light like spoilerlight.com, just need some advice as to whether it's worth it and how to go about installing it into the spoiler.
I have had to do 2 spoiler light on 4th gen maximas and they are pain in the a**. I bought one and the spoiler light was on the back seat. Then my girlfriend bought one that had a junkyard spoiler put on by the previous owner and of course he did not connect the wires. The light is fixable, but both times I had to open up the light and fix pieces of the circuit board.
Lol i'm not too sure. On my way home yesterday, the spot that I heard my spoiler lift up and off the car had skid marks so i'm not sure, but I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if someone did hit it, especially since it was late at night.
I saw a website that sells the leds, http://www.spoilerlights.com/servlet...999/Categories.
So when i get paid this week, I might just go ahead and buy it. Is it hard removing the led strip and disconnecting the wire? That's the only thing i'm nervous about.

I'd advice you do a youtube search, and find out how to install it yourself. Otherwise, Just pop that thing out with a flat head and install it the same way you did with the junkyard piece.(assuming you managed to install it) Hope this helps
Outcome on spoilerlights.com
did you make the purchase and install from spoiler lights.com? If so, was it simple or difficult? I have the same issue on 95 Maxima SE, none working LED. Cant find replacement anywhere without paying huge from Nissan.

Yes I did purchase from them.
Install is simple if you have the right tools.
I recommend an angled screwdriver or a Phillips bit on a ratchet should work with an adapter.
For the new wiring just tie it to the old wiring so you can use that to feed it into the trunk.
Worst case would be having to take off the spoiler, but like I said that isn't necessary with the right tools.

Was it screw on or double sided tape?

This was in 2012, so who knows if they've changed since then.
Good luck!
