My 1996 Maxima's alarm keeps reseting itself and wont let me start the car. This happens randomly and i will open the door either with the key fob or the key and lights start blinking horn sounds and wont stop. Is there a way to bypass the factory alarm or disarm it? Im told it is wired through the body control module not sure what that means. Sometimes I can disconnect the battery for about an hour and it will start up just fine but not always. there is a blinking security light to the left of the steering column also.

 

Blinking security light is not relevant for anything but the 99.

Stock alarm system?

If the thing is armed and the door is unlocked from the inside alarm will sound ... just make sure to hit the unlock button on the fob
