Valve shims for 98 maxima

I am needing five different sizes of valve lifter shims to keep my valvetrain from being noisy sizes (1)2.7mm, (2)2.77mm, (2)2.79mm, (1)2.83mm, and (1)2.85mm any leads would be great because Nissan dealer parts counters are having a tough time finding them. Also I am needing 16 new valve springs since rockauto only had 8 to sell.

That doesn't sound right, Nisaan can't find Nissan parts. Oh you need new valve springs, well Nissan sells those.

Have you posted a WTB in the classifieds? There are some members with part outs over in the 4th classifieds who I bet can help.

Actually valve shims are very hard to find because nissan no longer makes them for the VQ30. Essentially Dealers have to search other dealers to find them. Tell the dealer to start searching and stop being lazy they are out there but they have to be found.

That's bad news. All those motor swaps and builds are never going to be able to get done now.

unless the VQ35 valve cap will fit the VQ30. That is the alternative which im almost sure it will work. But you will have to ask the engine building gurus on that one.

Why not just swap the cylinder heads if you can't find shims?

I remember someone ordering shims for a 2000 model (VQ30DE) and the part numbers changed with the 5th gen.. Have you tried part numbers for the VQ30DE in a 5th gen?
