I have a compustar on the 95 and a viper on my 99.
Both are good quality units and I'd install either brand in a future vehicle.
Whatever you get, just make sure it's a well known brand.

Why don't you like viper? I've been installing DEI products for years and not even close to having a lot of issues. Most of the time when a remote start/alarm doesn't work right it's due to improper install, except for the "cheap" brands.

Roll the dice when they will fail lol

Well, that's unfortunate. You just eliminated a car alarm company that's been around forever and typically stands behind their products. I think you should give them another chance.

I have 3 cars with Viper remote start and 2 with Clifford remote start. Totally satisfied. I believe DEI bought out Clifford a few years back.
