problem with front left knocking during right turns
I seem to be getting a slight tapping sound from the front left when turning right or changing lanes it seems to be worse when i travel slower which is hard to do in a maxima.
the car has 70000klm so is it the shocks or should i be looking at something else??
thanks in advance.

People normally report "clicking" or "knocking" noises at low speeds when turning sharply and eventually "grinding" noises when the wear gets really advanced, in the case of bad CV boots/half-shafts.
Also, check the following link (click on: "Suspension, Strut Bearing R&R") to see if the symptoms are similar to those described for the front strut-bearing failure:
http://www.motorvate.ca/
Do you find the noise occurs when turning sharply at low speed on a level surface, or only when you go over bumps? If over bumps only, then you need to look to the suspension for possible culprits.
Best of luck!

Inspect your CV boots for rips, tears, or leaks. It's possible you have a transaxle, or half-shaft problem - if the boots get compromised, the gear oil/grease tends to leak out over time & this can allow gritty contaminants to make their way inside the boot which can chew up the drive gears on the axles prematurely.

Here's the test:
Got to an empty parking lot, and turn your wheel to the far right and slowly (around 5-10MPH) drive in circles. If you hear a constant clicking/knocking sound - "click, click, click, etc" then it's most likely the a CV problem
If you can hear it without moving, like turning your wheel back and forth in park then it's most likely the Strut Bearing

Definitely sounds like a CV boot problem!

Drove in circles (counter clockwise) i can hear some metal grinding sound. Clockwise the sound was softer.
I check my rims and the inner wheel well and saw no oil stains.
4000 miles ago, I took it to Nissan dealer and complained about the nosie. the mechanic couldn't found anything except the right wheel was grinding to the protective plastic.
Should I worry??
What other procedures can I do??
