A friend of mine has some coil packs from a 2000 engine. Will these work on a 99 engine?

 

No. The 5th gen coil packs do not fit.
95-99
00-01
02+
ALL different.

However, the front coilpacks will kind of work. 95-99 is secured with 2 bolts, the 00-01 is secured with one bolt. Rear coilpacks, forget it, different lengths.
