Steering got a lot worse after new tires were put on..
I thought i was crazy but yes, it's the case... I had ****ty stock Toyo's with 62k miles on 15" steelies, you could imagine they were worn pretty bad. So I recently put on some 215/55/16 Dunlop sport A2s on 16" 2001 GLE rims and even though the tire is 10 times quieter and smoother. Also, they grip well, yet the steering feels a lot more loose..? whats up with that. Is this the case for all you guys who went with bigger/wider rims? I mean, i just upgraded from 15s to 16s, not a big difference.
I was thinking and I'm guessing I probably need an alignment? car doesn't really pull but i have to tilt my steering wheel like 20 degrees before i get any response, which is horrible. also driving at straight at high speeds or going through sweeping turns it is constantly understeering. Is an alignment a good idea? I'm just guessing here, seems logical.
thanks

That's very odd... I would definitely get them aligned and balanced if you haven't already. Remember, don't pay for a 4-wheel alignment. Our cars are only adjustable in the front. Good luck.

Take it to a dealer and do what Weasel said. You should take the car to a nicely paved street and see if the car veers to the left or right. Another way to tell if your alignment is off is you will lose a lot of braking power when trying to stop.

thanks for the tips guys. I'm going to take it in for an alignment, also check the camber and pull it back a little. I ossume when I had the old tires, they just didn't wear that even, although it's not noticeable whe I look at them, but now that I got slightly bigger wheels, with bigger, wider tires.. It might be a good idea to check it.
Costco,
Alignment should cost around 35$. There is a place near my house that charges that for most FWD cars, this is just for front wheel alignment, like Weasel said, don't pay for the 4 wheel.
Deezo, on a flat road, it rides perfectly. it's just the steering response that got worse, I need to turn the wheel a good 20 degrees for it to respond well. If I don't it will take it a few seconds to begin coming into the direction I'm turning.
These grip much much better, and they are more quiet. I am happy with the tires and the handling, but there is understeer and poor response. Maybe I'm just too picky, but I felt a difference right away.
