Question about getting new wheels

hey guys, i have a question regarding getting some new 17 inch wheels for my 97 GLE...i've been searching around for some new wheels around the 1000-1200 price range, and i found a set that i liked...the 17X7 5-100/114 40S Enkei CDR9 wheels...now the package i can get has a choice of two tires...225/50R-17 94V Nitto NT-450 Extreme Performance tires or 235/45ZR-17 93W Nitto NT 555 Extreme Performance tires. Can anyone tell me what the main difference would be in these tires? The second set of tires is only 28 dollars more total, so about 7 dollars extra per tire, but I want to know which tire would actually be better, especially for ride-quality?...Thanks

edit---also, another question....using either of these tires and that set of wheels, would I be able to use one of my stock 15s as a spare?

anyone?...and while i'm at it, one last question...with these set of wheels and either set of tires...would these throw off any instruments such as the speedometer or odometer? thanks.

Aside from the width difference... different model tires have different qualities (which I can't attest to).

7" wide for 235s sounds a little narrow... if you can get 7.5", that would be better.

You'll have look up a chart regarding keeping the same overall diameter of the tire similar... the 235/45/17 are OK... dunno about the 225/50s... should be ok (if not a little larger in diameter).

Try a "search" on the models of tires for feedback from other members

thanks for the reply...i looked it up on some chart and it figured that using the 235/45/17 would give me the least change in speedo readings, so i'm probably going to go with those...thanks again
