What is the plug on the bag side of oil pan for???

Ok,your under the car and looking toward the front of it. You have your oil pan, then you have your oil filter on the right of it, then you have some sortof plug coming out the back side of it (oil pan) with some sortof tube that works its way upside the oil filter and up into the engine??? What is that tube for??

I was just asking cause I was playing around under my car and noticed that this tube and the clip into the back of the oil pan had some oil on it??? It isn't enough oil to actually drip, but was enough to catch my eye. So I pushed this plug to see if it was loose or something, and it squeezed a little oil out of where it connects to the oil pan??? Again, wasn't enough to drip, or enough to cover anything but itself and the little hose with some oil and grim?? Anyone know what this is, and if this is normal???? :-)

Oil Pressure sending unit. I think there prone to leaking too. They do get all messy when you take the filter out.

Thanks... I was kinda thinking it was a sensor, but was just baffled that it was kinda oily.

This shouldn't be much of a problem though right?? I mean, it isn't enough to even drip, just wondering if thats just the begnining stage of an issue and if I should go ahead and fix it??
