starter? and p1400
I just bought a 96 se. Has 133,000 on it. The other day I left the lights on for about an hour. The car was dead. Got a jump and was on my way. The rest of the day I had to turn my key several times to get it to start. So im thinking its the starter going out. Then the check engine light came on. Read p1400. So is it possible that the s valve was not getting enough juice do to the car not starting right away? It also had a really old air filter. For all I know the starting problem could also be the ignition switch. I am pretty failure with th maxima. I had a 2000 for 12 years but never had this happen. Can someone please help this girl out. Thank you
after you got a jump how long did you drive it for? for the alternator to recharge your battery the car has to run for about 45 minutes or more, if you didnt drive it much you probably had to turn the key excessively from a undercharged battery
I let it run for half an hour.
P1400 points to the EGRC valve, it may be dirty or clogged up. The hard to start sounds like the ignition switch, which is pretty common on these to fail! I got one off ebay for around 15$ and replaced it myself in around 25 minutes
