2000-2003 (a33) coilovers on a 1995 Maxima?

I recently bought ksport coilovers for my 2002 Maxima but I was unfortunately rear-ended, totaling the car before I had a chance to install the coilovers. BUT I also have a 1995 Maxima with bad struts. I was wanting to kill two birds with one stone by installing the coilovers on my 95.

My question is, what custom work is needed to make these coilovers work? I have searched online, but I only see people saying its possible, not how to do it.

Any responses or links to a write up (If any exist) would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Splindle is smaller on a 4th gen....The strut mounts are different not that you need that part! I would first of all make sure their length is close, I have both style front struts on hand... The spindle thickness at the area where the bolts go thru is wider IIRC on the 5th Gen...I'll confirm this for you....What I would do next is get a left and right side front spindle (4th gen) and take to a machine shop to build some metallic shims or machine the spindle bolts holes to the proper size....give me by 2morrow to have some numbers for you OK!

will definitely not fit unless you have a a33 spindle or make new holes in the spindle to fit your coilovers, i tried to mount my lowering springs from a a32 to a33 but the holes for the spindle on the strut were too far apart, i think it was about 1 inch difference...

willing to sell the ksports?

It's not a lot of work honestly but once you add up the costs of the mounts it can get expensive.

You need new front lower mounts and new rear upper mounts.

K-sport sells them for around 120/ea + shipping.

You could find a 5.5 Gen at the junkyard and get the spindles/calipers/rotors for dirt cheap. Lower mount problem solved and brake upgrade at the same time.

Order a set of rear top mounts and on the front you need to elongate the top mounting hole on the bottom mounts by 5mm thats all.

Rear top mounts $85 a set
10mm drill bit $5

I talked to my mechanic and the fronts won't be a problem, we will just drill the struts to make them fit the spindle.

And as far as the rears go, where can I find them for $85 a pair? I just called ksport and they want $78 each for the 1995 maxima rear strut mount. But shipping will take 2-4 weeks and that is a problem because the car is currently taken apart, using up space.

The rears should be the same at the top for the 4th and 5th gen since your using a coilover there should be no issue....The Oem spring coil diameter were bigger on the 4th and smaller on the 5th....

No the diameter of the ksport center was way larger than an oem 4th or 5th. New top strut mounts would be the only option and I don't have the time for them.
