Battery Drain
Battery Drain
Hey i have a very peculiar battery drain that i cant seem to diagnose. Usually what i do is take a voltmeter with the amp that lights up whenever current is passing through. I attached one side to the Red and the other side to the black. Pulled out every single fuse one by one and noticed that there was no change in light density. I assumed that it was normal for the car to pull enough current to keep the light bright.
For the third time ever my car's battery was completely drained within 1 hour of sitting in the cold. I know its not the battery because the battery is brand new. Any ideas as to what would be draining my battery sometimes? This occurrence is very rare.
Only mods i have are LEDs all around and an aftermarket HU. Thanks in advance!
The car is a 1997 Maxima SE.

Parasitic drain shouldn't be more than 0.05amp, you got some bad drain, things you can check: hood switch, trunk switch, main link box next to the air box under the hood (especially main battery fuse link). I have also heard that bad alternator can also drain battery.

Well, check battery terminals, check ground, check connections at alternator, and other electric connectors and wires, if all fuses are fine, I bet somewhere wires get crossed.
