removal of stock grille
removal of stock grille
does anyone know how to remove the stock grille off a 97 gxe, im trying to make a custom grille, but i have no clue on how to take the stock grille off, i have searched, but havent got the results i was looking for, any help would be appreciated
Ah..first please don't post the same thing so many times.
Removing the stock grille is easy. Stick a flathead screwdriver in from the front and turn the two plastic tabs that hold the stock grille in (they are both on the upper corners of the grille). Then pull out. Installation is opposite of the removal.
Do this gently, since those plastic tabs are very fragile. I broke one when I removed my grille and had to buy a new fastener from the dealer (who gouged me for $4.50 for that stupid plastic part).

I took my grille off for some cleaning. It was a mistake. The plastic screw clips are big pain to get back in. I ended up breaking one, got another to replace the broken one and eventually gave up with them and used a screw, washer and nut to put it back.
