Rough idle fixed!
Rough idle fixed!
I have a 99' auto with an idle that jumps up and down whenever I come to a stop. This was after I cleaned my throttle body. My idles in P or N is 650-700, and in D is 500-550. The dealer said it was either clogged fuel injector or ignition coil. The dealer recommended cleaning with fuel injector cleaner first then if trouble persists bring it in to their service dept. The person said the coil may be under warranty so bring it in before 60K if cleaner does not help. I bought a can of the BG 44K from the dealer, cost me $20! I hear the BG 44K is very hard to find and you can't get it from a retailer. The problem is gone for now, hopefully. The BG 44K is good stuff but hard to find!
Q1: Why would cleaning throttle body cause fuel injectors to be clogged?
Q2: Is the BG 44K cost about $20, or I got ripped off.
Q3: Is the ignition coils under 60K warranty?

BG 44k is supposed to be the best stuff around, and the price you paid is typical. You may have dislodged some crud when you cleaned the TB, which went down stream and into the opening of the fuel injector. Now that you know where to get the BG, put a can in once a year.
