OBX Underdrive Crank Pulley - Help

Team,

I need some real input from you all here.

My harmonic balancer came apart and since I had to replace it thought I would go with the OBX underdrive CP. Well after a ton of work trying to get the stock pulley off, I installed this and on my first test drive the car was misfiring on acceleration and at idle.

Anyone had an issue after putting one of these on? Should I just go back to the stock pulley?

Truly couldn't believe this after all the work in getting it replaced.

Thanks for any replies with insight,

Nate

OBX will break on you.
Bad design reflected by the cheap price.
Get a Dorman or similar quality stock replacement.

Underdrive pulleys are mostly for looks on our cars and won't really do anything performance wise.

OBX is so terrible that I bet the trigger ring is on backwards right from the factory. That's probably your immediate issue.

Thanks, I couldn't care much about the looks just thought it was better than the 2 piece stock version which broke apart.

Are the doormans avail on eBay? Or where should I source one?

Btw the doormans range from $35 to 300 for the same part #. What's the best way to determine the right quality?

That's why I don't purchase some things on ebay.
I don't believe them.
I trust rockauto and the dealership.
Not a part I would gamble on.

The Rockauto price on a Dorman at $91.79 is good.

In September of 2012, I paid $107 for a no-name brand from eBay. I'm still running it but I would have saved a few bucks going with Rockauto for a name brand.
