lower ball joint replacement

Hey guys, just have a quick question, when replacing my lower ball joints, if I just undo the castle nut, will I have enough wiggle room to press out the old and press the new ? Or do I have to take the axle out of the hub and all that jazz ??

It would be much better if you just replace the whole lower control arm...it has ball joint and all bushings already installed...and pretty easy to do! Replace both lca's at the same time...then get an alignment...

Ahh, bolt on what you have, assuredly it's better than what's on there and roll the dice. Either way, you know what you are dealing with and if your unknown maker's parts start failing prematurely you know what you need.

Disconnect the swaybar endlink, remove the six control arm bolts, loosen the ball joint not with an open ended wrench if its not rusted on, and wail on it with a hammer. After it cracks loos from the knuckle, remove the nut and take it to the bench or shop floor. Remove the snap ring and beat the joint out with a hammer. flip the arm over and knock the new one in with a hammer and big socket. I used a 3lb shop hammer and a piece of rail road for an anvil.
