Car doesn't crank in hot weather (*sometimes)

When it's really hot out 95+
Sometimes I walk to the car turn the key and nothing.
All lights come on and beep occurs, but the engine doesn't even attempt to do anything. No noise, clicks...

If you wait for a few mins, sometimes it starts right up.
We have had this issue for a few years...

Any idea what could be causing this?

I had a friend about 5 years ago put on a Cold Air Intake.
He left what I believe is the Air Temperature Sensor Disengaged.

Does anyone know what could be causing this?

My first guess would be to check out the ignition switch. It is screwed on to the back end of the ignition key cylinder and is a trouble spot for these cars.

Get the intake air temperature sensor back in there because its plays a key role in air fule ration and starting up. Just plug it back in and put it somewhere it will get some air.

I think that either your battery is dying or your starter is about to go.

... agreed.

You need to do some poking and prodding with a multimeter.

How about the neutral safety (inhibitor) switch? Shift from Park to Neutral and then try starting it. My Altima has this same problem.

Not the problem at all. The op says the engine doesn't even crank over.
