Tricks or Tips to disconnecting Waterproof Connectors?

Hello,

I have a 2000 Nissan Maxima parts car and wanted to separate the connectors in the engine bay. It's a pain in the *** just to do one. I think it takes me about 15 minutes just to disconnect one.

Is there a tip or trick you can provide to speed up this process? I have the Nissan FSM. Is there a way to break the green plastic tab?

While holding the connector just push the green thingy in. You might need a small flathead screwdriver to apply pressure to that green part, but it should be very easy.

+1 ... pushing the green tab with a suitable tool, you'll hear and feel a "click". Then the connector simply separate.

Thank you for the recommendations. I don't know what Nissan was thinking with these green connectors.

My wife's 2006 Xterra do not have these irritating connections.
