Best preparation for a swap

I have a motor that has sat for about 6 months...What should I do to ensure when I install it in a car it will last forever? It currently has about 192k. Mainly hwy. Other than valve cover gaskets, egr, t-body, lower oil pan etc gaskets, what else should I do guys. Are there any reasonable mods I can do to the motor to get more power etc?

The water pump is much simpler to replace out of the car rather than in the car.
Replace before installing engine. The fuel injectors and hoses will need attention soon. Remove injectors, have them rebuilt. Change the knock sensor at the same time.

Also get a complete set of coolant hoses. Easy to replace on the engine and the engine compartment. Would you rather replace them now or far from home in August?

I like how you are thinking.
