1997 Maxima AC Pulley Removal
Hi
I need to replace the AC pulley/clutch bearing on a 1997 Maxima.
Got the center bolt out but am stuck now.
Clutch won't come off. Am I missing something? I thought that part should just pull off by hand.
Any advice is appreciated>
Phil.

The pulley does not just pull off by hand. You need to use a puller.
Here is a link to the service manual for the pulley removal. Go to page 133.

OK, got the clutch plate off and the pulley is sloppy on the shaft.
Bearing rolls fine but slides on and off the compressor very easily and is floppy. Looks like the shaft/housing the bearing slides onto is worn smaller.
Does that mean a new Compressor?
Thanks
Phil.
