my car has been running ****ty the last month or so, with the codes of p0505 and p0100, i have cleaned out my maf still have the code cleaned my iacv still have the code so i know they need to be replaced, yesterday when i tried to check the code my code reader was not picking up the OBD II signal, bad ECU? also when i went to check the smell coming from my exhaust the air coming from it was ridiculously hot. what might it be? when i turn off the car there is crackling noise coming from the cats/exhaust

The noise is related to heating and cooling of the flexpipe. This is completely normal. It contracts and expands. That's what you are hearing.

If your car runs, I doubt that your ecu is bad.

Which chemicals did you use for the cleaning process, and how did you do it?

You mention that your exhaust seems hot. Is your engine temperature in the normal range?

I used the TB and intake cleaner for the iacv, didnt have any mad sensor cleaner so i used the tb cleaner as well, yes my engine temp is normal, the maf sensor code was already there before the cleaning, my car struggles to turn on,

i just replaced the #1 injector because it was smoking bad that went away

Sounds like your fuel injector was leaking.

Good news is that you might have solved your problem.

Hang on to the old injector. These can be rebuilt. The injectors tend to break a seal called a pintle cap. Chances are that this will happen again.

yes but now i am having issues with the exhaust air coming out way too hott

P0100 is the MAF. You need to replace it. Since the MAF basically tells the ECU how much (or little) fuel to inject into the cylinders. If the engine is running rich, the catalytic converter will have a lot more fuel to burn up and would run very hot. It could even glow red if the situation was bad enough.

If you still have the P0505, you may have to replace the idle IACV.

AWESOME dude that explains the hotness of the exhaust air, will it do any harm if i drive it like that for the next 4 days to work?

Just thinking....... your observation of super hot exhaust does indeed match up with a malfunctioning maf and a leaking fuel injector. All that gas would turn in to heat at the cat, and the exhaust. Once you fix this, your mileage will go up a lot.

Hope that all that heat did not overheat the converter.

Or put another way, I hope that you did not roast your cat.

i drive it work but im only 7 mins away and it sits for 12 hours til i go home, i dont even give it time to warm up, but thanks dude payday this friday gonna go get the parts
