unleaded or super

ok ever since i have owned my first max now im on my fourth i have used super. but some guy i know told me im just wasting my money just to get regular. i always thought the higher the octane the better and it also cleans the injectors. what do you guys use.

93 or 94 Octane for me

Nissan recommends 91 octane. I wouldn't go below that.

93 for me, 'cause they don't sell 91 in NY, just 87, 89 and 93 (94 and up at some places as well).

Sister has been runnin' 87 basic octane on her '95 GXE for several years now, and no problems. (except that her engine died )

Not really. Anything over 91 on the Max is a waste (assuming you're NA). The ECU doesn't make any compensations for higher octane.

Several sources say if a car is designed to use a certain octane level, anything above that is a waste. The cleaner in the gas is the same by law, as I was told.
BTW I just found today that some 76 stations call their 87 as "unleaded plus". To me 87 is always "regular".
