CV Axle came out of the transmission while doing a strut job

Hey I was changing my driver side struts when I realized the axle came out of the transmission when i took the strut out. I put the new strut on and put the axle back in but now my car doesnt move. So what are my options? I figure if i put it back in It wouldve been fine. Do i need to take the entire axle and reinstall it? Or take the strut off and work with it from there? What should I do?

I think you're right. Can it be fixed by not taking the entire axle out since it already comes out of the transmission?

If the axle came out of the transmission, it is a good possibility that you didn't get it all the way back in. The axle has to snap back in place, it doesn't just slide all the way in. Persuasion with a rubber mallet is usually needed. Keep the axle as straight a possible when you "persuade" it.

Yes, or the lock ring broke or came off the axle. But yes, keep the axle (assuming said lock ring is still intact) as straight as possible and use the mallet to "persuade" it.
