Driver side axle

Driver side axle

I am replacing the driver side axle i have done everything up to the point of takinng the axle off the transmission, from what i researched people use a crownbar as a lever to pop it out but mine wont come out! Any ideas and help is welcomed on
How to pop it out!

The main thing is that you have to "pop" it out. Steady pressure requires A LOT of pressure. You also want to be pulling the axle straight out without any angle. A crowbar/pry bar should make it easy if you follow the 2 tips above.

Do these axles have a metal ring on the shaft going into the tranny? If so, try rotating the axle then using a pry bar to pop it out. Rotate, pry bar, rotate, pry bar and it should eventually come out. A good hit with the meaty part of your palm will do the trick.

Will be trying it again tomorrow using both suggestions read some where to use an air hammer to lose some tension and then it will be way easier

It'll come out. It does have the ring on the end.

Use a strong pry bar and don't be afraid of breaking anything. Sometimes a hint of doubt can hold us back from putting that last bit of force into something. You haven't missed anything. It just needs more force.

I think those rings open up over time because when I've had to put an axle back in I always have to remove the ring and squeeze it down some to get the axle back in. I haven't had to do it when replacing one though.
