Tranny metal on metal sound?

Tranny metal on metal sound?
So i have a metal on metal rubbing sound at idle SOMETIMES only which is weird. When its happening it goes higher with rpms. But once the cars at idle temp for while i feel like it kinda mellos out. Any ideas!?! Also od light flashes 16 times at start up how do i do tranny diag? Cant find it in fsm anywhere. Any help or input is much appreciated. Thanks guys

The auto transmission self diagnostic is in the AT (Automatic Transaxle) section, starting on page 46.

Thanks man. I tried it multiple time. After i press n release gas pedal nothing happens. Am i suppose to move it to park or start it after i press pedal or anything. Nothing flashes. But still flashes 16 times on start up.
