JWT ECU reset?

hey, if you get an ECU repogramming and then have to reset the ECU, like when you install the Y pipe, will all that programming be for nothing? please let me know..

I think special JWT programming is for NOS, S/C, Larger injectors, etc. I don't think bolt-ons such as CAI, CAt-backs, Y-pipe have special consideration with the JWT--someone please correct me if I'm wrong. It will behave like stock and start collecting new data with the Y-pipe on, once the ECU has been reset.

Corrected- You're wrong.

JWT ECU uses modified fuel and timing maps, and raises the rev limiter to 7000. Resetting the ECU doesn't change these unchangeable attributes. Only programming (which is what JWT does) can change these.

I wondered about this as well. After thinking about it, I thought, why would they leave the reset screw in there if it would hurt anything. I've reset mine numerous times in the last month (knock sensor problems) and have had no ill effects.

Oops. Read the post wrong. what I meant was that the JWT doesn't have special programming for Y-pipes. So if you get a simple bolt-on, you do not need it reprogrammed. Resetting the ECU, including the JWT ECU, should simply clear the data it has accumulated. The actual programming is burned onto a chip and will not go away...
