Do SC's on the Max destroy the top end?

Do SC's on the Max destroy the top end?
I've read alot about people putting SC's on the maximas but I always thought SC's were good for the low end but hurt the top end which is where the maxima's engine is so much fun. I love playing with it above 4K. I'd think a turbo would be more fun, the old VG engine was turbo and twinturbo'd in the Z's, isn't the VQ an aluminum block update of that engine? Anyway, just trying to learn a few things. Would be fun to have some boost in the engine.
<-- Sorry, I just think thats funny

So far I haven't had the opportunity to explore the nether regions of the top end of the speedo but I can tell you that if you want a rush you'll get it.

Another question about SC's
What about long term effects on the engine? I mean, if I were to get a supercharger with only 20k miles on my car, should I expect a lower life expectancy of the engine due to the added pressure and stress?

well....safe is the wrong word......but it definitely does not damage it the second u put it in.......it basically wears out faster cause the engine is being pushed harder its like lifting weights........your used to benching 150, but then all of a sudden u went to 200, you wood be able to do it, but it will stress ya out faster

Do you want an exciting whoop-a$$ fast Maxima or a daily dependable driver?
I chose the former over the latter!

Life? Well it would depend. If you hit max boost 10sec after starting the car and go max boost at every light, then yes. But if you drive sane 90% of the time and then go into boos every once in awhile, then the motor should last a good long time(provided you take care of it)
SCs, Turbos, Nos, are all "no bozos" devices. If one doesn't understand how they work and how to take car of such a car, one probably should not be having one.

Think about it if I press on the gas at every red light like I am at the drag strip then heck yeah youll shorten your engine life. I myself plan on driving normally but I am not planning on tearing down my car. I ll save this moment for the drag strip or for once in a blue moon I am tailgating you and good luck catching me, but read the facts vortech has posted on their Superchargers you press the gas hard more speed less gas, you drive normally you should save gas etc....Ill find all this out when I install my SC I am taking a long trip to break in my clutch. Also a oilcooler is not necessary but my opinion it helps with or without a supercharger your car your choice they only cost like 95.00 from Jegs.com

you are not always boosting. depending on your pulley size, your sc will start crammin air in at a lower rpm. since my guages arent on right now, i cant tell you, but im guessin my 3.48 starts boosting around 3000 rpm, cuz i can feel it
